Inauguration of Student-Built Open Classroom and Pavilion at DIU Knowledge ValleyDepartment of Architecture, Daffodil International University.
On July 27, 2025, a remarkable moment unfolded at Knowledge Valley, as the Department of Architecture, Daffodil International University (DIU) proudly inaugurated a real-scale Open Classroom and Pavilion — an inspiring creation built by the students of Level 3, Term 2 as part of their course on Craftsmanship.
The structure was formally inaugurated by our respected Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. M. R. Kabir, whose presence and uplifting words added depth and encouragement to the project, motivating students to continue exploring beyond the boundaries of conventional education. Later he distributed certificates among participants and winning team.
This project reflects the collaborative and hands-on learning culture promoted at DIU. From concept to completion, students were at the heart of every stage — ideation, design, and physical construction — under the guidance of their faculty members. Built at the university’s wood-metal workshop, with technical assistance from Oval Furniture, the pavilion showcases not only architectural creativity but also technical skill, team effort, and a passion for making.
The Open Classroom and Pavilion is now a functional space, open to all for academic and creative activities such as classes, discussions, and small exhibitions. It stands as a testament to student initiative, interdisciplinary learning, and the potential of design to shape environments of knowledge and community.
This initiative marks a proud milestone for the Department of Architecture and demonstrates how built forms can emerge from imagination, craftsmanship, and collective effort.
All are welcome to visit the pavilion at Knowledge Valley and experience this unique student-led space of learning.
